1877 (19 June) entire letter from La Guaira to Veracruz (Mexico) carried at double rate, paying the local postage to the French P.O. of La Guaira with well margined pair of 1875 1r. vermilion, tied by undated double circle on dispatch, with concessionary inter-West Indies rate paid by France 1870 40c. orange (2), tied by “La Guayra” octagonal d.s., struck again at left, showing red French “Venezuela/Paq. Fr. B N°1” alongside, and “Ligne B/Paq. Fr. N°4” octagon in black on reverse. A very rare double-rate usage and combination franking. Cert. Club Filatélico de Caracas (1997. Scott 46.
