1886 0.1 P.T. to 100pi. set of essay surcharges drawn on brown tracing paper to be applied on the Military Telegraph stamps, along with the associated paperwork explaining the necessity for the new surcharges, including Bagnold's letter of 1886 (18.9). There is a brown stain where the essay sheet had been affixed to the pages and some folds to enable these pages to fit an album. A remarkable group. Photo
