1895 (17 Mar.) British South Africa Company 1½d. dull orange Mashonaland stationery card to Cape Town cancelled by a good strike of "679" barred oval with a good strike of "tati/matabeleland" (Proud D2) with Cape Town arrival (25.3) in lower corner. The writer is enquiring about educational books. A very early date for this Tati postmark. Photo

Note: although situated within Bechuanaland Protectorate, the Tati post office was administered by the BSA Company from May 1894 to July 1897, then it was transferred to Francistown when the route of the railway bypassed Tati in favour of Francistown
