1897 (22 Mar.) 4d. registered envelope, size G (H&G C7) to Germany and uprated 1891-1904 1d. lilac and 1/- dull green tied by "896" barred oval with "macloutsi" (Proud D2) c.d.s. at left, the reverse bearing Mafeking (26.3) squared circle and Schwelm (18.4) arrival c.d.s. A good franking paying the double rate and both despatch postmarks are the latest date according to Proud. British Bechuanaland stamps used in the Protectorate. Photo
