A Second World War B.E.M. group of four awarded to Acting Flight Officer I. L. Millett, Women's Auxiliary Air Force

British Empire Medal, G.VI.R. (881955 Flt Sgt Ivy L Millett. W.A.A.F.); Defence and War Medals 1939-45; Air Efficiency Award, G.VI.R. (Act. Flt. Off. I. L. Millett. W.A.A.F.), the first mounted on the presentation bow, the remainder mounted as worn, very fine (4)

B.E.M. London Gazette 11 June 1942. The recommendation states:

'Flight Sergeant Millett is the senior N.C.O. in charge of the W.A.A.F. at the Royal Air Force Station, Andover. She is most efficient and has spared no efforts to improve the welfare and efficiency of the W.A.A.F. Her conduct during air raids has been outstanding and she has been largely responsible for the good discipline and complete absence of panic by the W.A.A.F. on these occasions, despite the occurrence of fire and casualties.'

Ivy Lillian Millett was promoted to Assistant Section Officer on probation (emergency) on 30 September 1942 and relinquished her commission on 10 February 1954. She died in 2007.
