(x) Admiral Sir John Borlase Warren, a collection of material including a naval appointment document from the War of 1812
To include two portrait prints, one with reverse residue and staining; two autograph letters and a signed Royal Navy appointment document, light stains and ageing, overall in good condition with clear and legible text (5);
An autograph letter to an unknown recipient, ‘Your Lordship’, in which Warren laments the unfortunate situation at Ferrol in which he was unable to carry out his orders, writing “I must own the failure of that business, the difficulties of which were already overcome, has caused me much chagrin: as the effect of such a blow might have been of infinite use to the Country…”, the letter written and signed by Warren from Bath, dated 8 November 1800;

A Royal Navy appointment document issued to Paul G. Panton to perform the duties of Lieutenant aboard H.M.S. Plantagenet “during the absence of Lieut. Faussett, taken prisoner by the Enemy”, signed on board by Warren whilst off shore of Chesapeake Bay during the War of 1812, dated 2 September 1813;
An autograph letter addressed to Admiral Lord Keith, sending him a box of medals originally sent to him from Lord Elgin in Constantinople “for the Officers of the Division under my Orders of the Fleet under your Lordship's command…”, written and signed by Warren from 42 Upper Grosvenor Street in London, dated 12 May 1815 (Lot)
