(x) An archive of documents relating to Admiral Lord George Elphinstone, Viscount Keith

Order for William Moore of H.M.S. Transfer to put himself under Keith’s command, signed by Keith on board Fourdroyant at Gibraltar, dated 21 December 1791, slight foxing and minor pinhole to central fold;

Autograph letter addressed to Lord Matra stating that “Lord St. Vincent requests that I would let one of your ships call in Tangeer”, signed by Keith aboard Barfleur, dated 10 July 1779, minor ageing and folds;

Autograph letter addressed to Lord Keith written and signed by William Pulteney referencing a conversation he had with Mr. Dundas and discusses the French Army near Genoa, dated 4 October 1799, reverse paper loss from seal and minor pinholes along folds, ageing, text remains legible;

Order for Captain Henry D’Esterre Darby of Bellerophon to put himself under Keith’s command, signed by Keith on board Queen Charlotte off Vigo, dated 30 November 1799, in very fine condition for age;

Letter addressed to Rear Admiral Duckworth regarding a refit of Leander and leaving Russian seamen in his charge, signed at Leghorn by Keith, dated 19 March 1800, minor edge wear and folds, some stains, text clear and legible;

Three letters to Commodore Owen signed by Keith aboard Edgar off Ramsgate, the first allowing “the Rocket Apparatus to remain on board the Praamus”, dated 2 December 1806; the second transmitting a letter concerning a wreck off Etaples, dated 12 December 1806; and the third referencing payment of Spitfire and Arrow and dated 20 January 1807, one with water stains and tape repair along left edge, another in delicate condition with significant margin splits and tears with a few attempted tape repairs, overall text is legible throughout the three letters (8)
