(x) Letter signed by Prime Minister WIlliam Pitt regarding His Majesty’s inspection of troops, dated 9 July 1799

Letter addressed to Captain Poynter informing him of the King’s intention “of inspecting any of the Volunteer Corps belonging to the County of Kent, or to any part of the Cinque Ports within the Country, who can be conveniently assembled at the Mote near Maidstone, on the Thursday the first of August…”, signed William Pitt at Downing Street, 9 July 1799, a few tape repairs to reverse, some small holes and pinholes and tears along folds, ageing, stains and minor wear to edges, very little interference to text which is legible and largely clear
