Roman Empire, Septimius Severus (AD 193-211), AR Denarii (6): i) Rome, SEVERVS AVG PART MAX, laureate head right, rev. VIRT AVGG, Virtus standing left, holding Victory, spear and shield, 2.59g (RIC 171a; BMC 211), lustrous, toned, about extremely fine; ii) Geta, another, P SEPT GETA CAES PONT, draped bust right, rev. PRINC IVVENTVTIS, Geta, as prince of the youth, standing front in military attire, head to left, holding baton in his right hand and long sceptre in his left, trophy to right, 3.20g (RIC 18; BMC 234), slight weakness to edge, very fine; iii) another, as before, 2.20g, verdigris and wear to surfaces, good iv) another, as before, 2.38g, detailed and lustrous, about extremely fine; v) Caracalla, another, ANTONINVS PIVS AVG, laureate and draped bust right, rev. PART MAX PONT TR P IIII, trophy with captives sitting back-to-back at its base, 2.98g (RIC 54b; BMC 262), some deposits but otherwise extremely fine; vi) another, as before, 1.99g, small deposit to surface, but otherwise extremely fine; (6).
