Roman Empire (6): i) Caracalla, struck under Septimius Severus (AD 198-211), AR Denarius, Rome, ANTONINVS AVGVSTVS, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. PONTIF TR P III, Sol, radiate, standing facing, holding globe and inverted spear, 2.44g (RIC 30; BMC 179), lustrous, about extremely fine; ii) Septimius Severus, another, SEVERVS AVG PART MAX, laureate head right, rev. FVNDATOR PACIS, Severus standing facing, holding branch and roll, 3.21g (RIC 160; BMC 190), some roughness to surface, good fine; iii) another, as before, rev. PROVID AVGG, Providentia standling left, holding sceptre and wand over globe, 2.44g (RIC 166; BMC 197), some spots to surface, otherwise near extremely fine; iv) another, "stuck to a plated coin" as per BM Report, as before, rev. RESTITVTOR VRBIS, Severus sacrificing left from patera over tripod, 2.12g (RIC 167a; BMC 202), obverse detailed, reverse worn and with verdigris, good to fine; v) another, as before, 2.10g, corrosion to portrait, residually lustrous, good fine; (5).
