Roman Empire, Septimius Severus (AD 193-211), Civil War Issues, AR Denarii (4): i) Rome, struck 194, L SEPT SEV PERT AVG IMP III, laureate head right, rev. LIBERO PATRI, Liber standing facing with panther, 2.64g (RIC 32; BMC 64), obverse good very fine, the reverse slightly worn, about fine; ii) another, as before, rev. PACI AVGVSTI, Pax seated left, holding branch and cornucopiae, 3.14g (RIC 37; BMC 70), slight split to edge, some deposits, very fine example showcasing the short-lived peace between Septimius and his colleague Clodius Albinus; iii) another, as before, L SEPT SEV PERT AVG [IMP IIII], rev. APOLLINI AVGVSTO, Apollo standing facing, holding patera and lyre, 2.24g (RIC 40; BMC 78), nice portrait, verdigris and wear to reverse, overall fine; iv) another, as before, 1.61g, lovely portrait, about very fine; (4).
