Arondeaux, MOTOS PRÆSTAT COMPONERE FLVSTVS, Neptune standing in marine care, driven by two horses, rises up from the sea, wind blows across rough sea, rev. HALCYONIBVS . REDVCTIS SENATVS . AMSTELOD CIVIBVS . SVIS . HOC ANTIQVÆ . VIRTVTIS SPECTATÆQ . FIDEI PRÆMIVM . LARGITVR, radiant sun rising over calmer sea, upon which a birds nest floats, M • D • C • XCVI, in exergue, 38mm, 24.66g (van Loon IV 221), some slight doubling to the obverse legend, small hairline below right-hand figure of wind, otherwise with a rich cabinet tone, in hues of ochre and blue, to lustrous fields, much as struck, scarcely encountered in this condition
