A Great War M.C. group of three awarded to Lieutenant C. E. Cox, 8th Battalion, Middlesex Regiment (Duke of Cambridge's Own), who latterly added the M.B.E. to his laurels in 1955 for his work as a Higher Executive Officer at the Air Ministry

Cyril Ernest Cox joined the Public Trustee Office in June 1915 and was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant from a Provisional Battalion in October 1915. Proceeding to France in February 1916, his campaign awards were issued to him at 4 Chetwynd Road, Dartmouth Park, NW5, London. Transferred to the Air Ministry in April 1937, a man of this name served as a Squadron Leader during the Second World War. Cox was rewarded with the M.B.E. upon retirement.
