William Henry Hoy was born at Islington and enlisted in London. He was the husband of Mrs E. M. Smith (formerly Hoy) of 27 Grafton Road, Seven Sisters Road, Upper Holloway. He entered the war in France on 16 August 1915 and is entitled to a 1914-15 Star Trio. Hoy was awarded his Military Medal in 1916 whilst attached to the Guards Divisional Signal Company and was killed in action on 5 June 1918 and is buried in the Bienvillers Military Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France; sold together with copied research and photographs of the cemetery and his headstone.
