Carl Winston McKenney was born on 5 September 1930 in Maine, the son of Harrison and Annie McKenney. He enlisted with the U.S. Army for service in Korea where he was stationed with the 23rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Division. While serving there McKenney was injured in a missile attack on 13 May 1951, just prior to the start of the U.N. counter-offensive. Surviving the initial shock of his wounds, they eventually proved to be fatal and he died on 19 May 1951; sold together with copied research.
