One of 42 Annuity Meritorious Service Medals awarded to the Berkshire Regiment.

Charles Robinson was born in 1822 in Roscrea, Tipperary and enlisted with the 50th Foot at Cork after working as a labourer. He transferred to the 66th Foot in 1841, and was appointed Quartermaster Sergeant in 1855 ahead of being posted to India. Whilst serving in India, where Robinson was stationed from 1857 until 1862, he was issued a Long Service and Good Conduct Medal recommended with a £15 gratuity. Robinson was discharged upon his return home due to rheumatism, admitted to pension, and was awarded his Meritorious Service Medal with a £10 annuity in 1890; sold together with copied research.
