Keith Cyril Edmonds was born at Swindon on 2 April 1959, volunteering for the Royal Navy on 25 October 1977. Serving ashore at Raleigh first he spent time at Neptune and Hermes but later joined the Royal Naval Hospital Haslar where he remained from 1979. Leaving the Royal Navy on 30 April 1983 Edmonds joined Queen Alexandra's Royal Naval Nursing Service on 1 May.
He served to begin with at Haslar before being taken onto the books of R.N.H. Plymouth and later Royal Arthur. During the period of qualification for the North Iraq and South Turkey clasp in 1991 Edmonds was serving initially on the books at R.H.N. Plymouth. He later transferred to Haslar on 23 April before returning to Plymouth on 19 June. Receiving his medal in September of that year Edmonds was also awarded a L.S. & G.C. the next year on 25 October 1992. He was released from service on 1 November 1995; sold together with the recipient's original pay book in a named wallet along with copied service papers.
