John Henry Badenhorst of Alice, Eastern Cape province, joined the Colours in September 1914 and subsequently served in German South-West Africa. In 1916 he was noted as 24 years old, a Clerk by profession, and with a scar over his left forehead; sold together with a small amount of copied research.
