Albert Moore was a native of Crewe and first served on Gallipoli with the 8th Battalion, Cheshire Regiment from 13 July 1915. Whilst serving with 'B' Company, 12th Battalion, he was admitted to No. 31 Casualty Clearing Station on 21 March 1917, he was admitted to hospital with Inflammation of the Connective Tissue to the neck and right arm a week later.

Having recovered, he served with the 1st Battalion, South Wales Borderers and was rewarded with his M.M, together with 2nd Lieutenant Diloway - who took an M.C. - for their fine patrolling work.
