(x) Queen's South Africa 1899-1902 (27490 Sjt:Far: C. A. Hellyer. 38th Coy.Imp.Yeo:), disc only, contact marks, fine

Charles Austin Hellyer was born at Gillingham, Dorset in 1874. He enlisted in the 38th Squadron 10th Imperial Yeomanry on 22 February 1901 being discharged on 9 August 1902. He is entitled to the Queen's South Africa Medal with two clasps Cape Colony, Transvaal and the Kings South Africa Medal with two clasps.

He re-enlisted on 1 April 1908 in the 4th Battalion, Dorset Regiment for home service only, and was discharged on 31 March 1916. Hellyer is not entitled to any Great War medals, and later died on 7 February 1927.
