South Africa 1877-79, no clasp (1569, Sergt. G. Head, 58th Foot), slight contact marks, polishing, very fine

George Head was born in Australia and worked as a clerk prior to enlisting on 19 June 1868. He saw service in South Africa in the wake of the Anglo-Zulu War, here the Battalion saw heavy fighting in the first Anglo-Boer war. Head was discharged on 3 August 1880 with his character noted as very good; sold together with a copied medal roll and pay records.
