Harry Proctor was born at St Andrews, Dundee on 18 October 1878 and joined the Royal Marine Artillery on 21 March 1898. During the Great War he served afloat with Thunderer from 10 May 1913-7 December 1915 and also Princess Royal from 20 November 1917-6 March 1919. Awarded his L.S. & G.C. Medal on 15 February 1919, Proctor was discharged in May 1919.
