William John Gillett enlisted on 8 September 1914 and served in Egypt from 31 August 1915. He is entitled to a Silver War badge (316996 and is noted as being Discharged due to sickness on 13 April 1919. A further note on his Medal Index Card notes 'Agent for London Electric Ry. Co returns 1914-15 Star, found on the premises. 23. 9. 20.'; sold together with recipient's uniform riband bar.
