Tom Butt was a 19-year-old farm labourer from Maperton, Somerset when he enlisted in the Dorset Regiment on 5 July 1907. He was severely wounded in Mesopotamia with a gunshot wound to the hand and discharged on 10 January 1920; sold together with a copied M.I.C.
