A uniquely named Merchant Navy British War Medal awarded to W. Magrow, A.R.P., Merchant Navy

British War Medal 1914-20 (Walter Magrow A.R.P.), slight edge bruising, very fine

Walter Magrow was born at Liverpool in 1871 and appears on the 1901 census as a Seaman with the dredger S.S. Septima. The acronym A.R.P. in this context is believed to refer to Auxiliary River Patrol. Magrow certainly survived the war, applying for his medals on 25 August 1919; sold together with a copied M.I.C. and 1901 census extract.

Further entitled to the Mercantile Marine Medal.
