The James Song FRPSL Large Gold Medal Collection of The Chin Hills District
After the Japanese occupied Rangoon in March 1942, an emergency mail service was organised by Major A.G. McCall, District Commissioner, Lushai Hills at Aijal.
The postal runners made an eight day journey from Haka, Tiddim and Fort White via Falam to Aijal in Assam and thence to India.
By July stamps overprinted "service"
had become exhausted and ordinary postage stamps overprinted "ohms" by typewriter were approved

1942 (25 Sept.) OHMS brown envelope (415x150mm.; folded in half) to Falam, bearing Official 6p. bright blue (9 including two pairs) in combination with 2a.6p. claret block of five with type-written "ohms" (Type 10) and showing arrival d.s. (29.9) on reverse. Rare, only nine covers recorded from Tiddim to Falam. Photo
