(x) U.S.A.: A collection of New York City Hotels, comprising Greeley Square Hotel Company, Preferred stock, 19[30]. Incorporated in 1910 to build the hotel on Broadway which opened in 1912. The company refurbished it in 1928 and sold it in 1936 when it became the Hotel McAlpin; Lincoln Hotel Properties, $1000, 1926, signed by Henry and Irwin Chanin. Opened in 1928 in the Theatre district of Manhattan, it was 27 stories tall with 1331 rooms. The Chanins were architects and builders of many theatres and hotels and also the Chanin Building, 1927-29 by Grand Central Station, then the 3rd tallest building in the City; New York United Hotels Inc., $500, 1927, and Common stock B, 1930. Developed by the New York Central RR and the New York, New Haven and Hartford RR and operated by this company until it went bankrupt in 1934, and, lastly Vanderbilt Hotel Corporation, Common stock, 19[25]. Built for Alfred Vanderbilt and opened in 1912. Now residential apartments known as 4 Park Avenue. The last with a couple of edge tears, F-VF (5).
