(x) Channel Islands: Royal Hotel Limited, Jersey, £1 preference shares, 189[1901], #83, pale blue, red seal, printed by Labey & Blampied in Jersey, Thomas Blampied signs as a director also. The Blampieds were an old Jersey family with many business interests including banking. Thomas sat as a "Jurat" in the Jersey courts in 1903. The hotel was built in the 1840's and this company was formed in the 1890's to acquire it as a going concern. In liquidation in 1909 and reconstructed as following: Royal Hotel (1909) Limited, £1 shares, [1909], #25, black. The hotel still exists as part of the Best Western group. VF and rare (2).
