(x) Great Britain: Croydon Hotels Co. Ltd., certificate no. 1, 188[3], issued to Fredericke Rocke and signed by James Hobbs as Director, small vignette of greyhound, black. Owned the Greyhound Hotel in High Street, Croydon. Financed and built by Jabez Balfour and associates. Frederick Rocke was a director of 3 of the Balfour companies. Hobbs was the builder who also sat on the board of Balfour companies. He was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment (later reduced to 8) following the collapse of the Balfour empire. VF and rare. The only piece known of this company. Previously sold by us for £90 in 2013.
