(x) Great Britain: Berners Hotel Ltd., a group of 43 x 6% debentures for £100, 1892[3], black, 4 pages. Registered in 1890 to acquire the existing private hotel at 6 & 7 Berners Street, London, owned by Berners Hotel Company Limited, which had been registered in 1880, and to acquire adjacent property. Thomas Ward was the previous owner and Managing Director. All of these debentures were issued to him. He was prosecuted for issuing a forged bill of exchange in 1895 and also for the fradulent issuing of these debentures. The building still exists as the luxurious London Edition. EF.(43)
