A tragic Flying Log Book kept by Aircraftman Class I F. Prosser, 219 Squadron, Royal Air Force who died in a flying accident after only 51 hours in the air

Flying Log Book, some foxing, very fine

Frank Prosser was born at Pontypool, Wales in 1922, the son of Alfred and Ellen Prosser. Enlisting with the R.A.F. in 1938 he trained as an Air Gunner, with his Log Book noting 15 hours training at Gunnery School. Posted to No. 219 Squadron for service as Wireless Operator and Air Gunner, here he flew in the fighter variant of the Bristol Blenheim. Flying out of Yorkshire, Prosser took part in a number of night patrols with the Squadron. During such a patrol off Whitby on the night of 21 March he was killed when the Blenheim piloted by Sergeant Horace Phillips crashed into Cockayne Ridge, Bransdale; sold together with an original photograph and forwarding slip for the Log Book along with a file of copied research.
