Great War Bronze Memorial Plaque (William Vittles), good very fine

There is no casualty named William Vittles however William Vittle is a uniquely named casualty.

William Vittle was born at St. Nicholas, Pembrokeshire, the son of Anne Vittle. On the outbreak of the Great War he enlisted at Haverfordwest with the Welsh Regiment and entered the war in France on 21 April 1915. He served with this unit throughout the battle of the Somme where they were heavily engaged but was killed in an attack of Western part of High Wood on 8 September 1916 as the battle was drawing to a close; sold together with copied research including Soldier died in the Great War and Commonwealth War Graves certificate.
