The Victory Medal awarded to Private W. Malledant, Wiltshire Regiment, a native of Guernsey who died of wounds in Mesopotamia on 30 March

Victory Medal 1914-19 (19482 Pte. W. Malledant. Wilts. R.), very fine

William Malledant was born in 1895 and enlisted in Guernsey and served in the Balkans from 17 November 1915. Mortally wounded in action, he died of his wounds on 30 March 1917 whilst serving with the 5th Battaion. Malledant is commemorated on the Basra Memorial. His mother applied for his 1914-15 Star on the 13 August 1920 and the Medals were sent to St Pierre Port, Guernsey.
