British War Medal 1914-20 (60561 Pte. W. P . Griffiths. Ches. R.), contact wear overall, very fine

William Phillip Griffiths was born at Barry, Glamorgan and enlisted at Cardiff with the Cheshire Regiment. Posted to the 1st Battalion in France he was mortally wounded there, dying on 5 May 1918 at 35th General Hospital. He is buried at Les Baraques Military Cemetery, Sangatte; sold together with a copied Commonwealth War Graves Certificate.
