M.M. London Gazette 11 October 1916.
Edward Anderson Roberts was a native of Colwyn Bay and was an apprentice ironmonger. With the outbreak of the Great War served in France with the 10th Battalion from 27 September 1915. In a letter home at the time of the award of his M.M., the North Wales Weekly (19 October 1916), he stated:
'I think we are winning easily.'
The article also confirms details from his Battalion CO on the award:
'Your gallant conduct in the field on the 6th and 26th July has been reported to me, and I had much pleasure in bringing it to the notice of a higher authority.'
Roberts was latterly reported to have been wounded in action (North Wales Weekly 28 December 1916, refers).
