Army L.S. & G.C., E.VII.R. (16 Clr: Serjt: N. George. Border Regt), unit officially re-impressed, slightly polished, overall very fine

Nathan George was born at Stowmarket, Suffolk in 1862. Enlisting with th 46th Brigade on 28 April 1881 he later joined the Border Regiment serving with the number 16 in the 3rd (Volunteer) Battalion, Border Regiment he was discharged on 6 September 1902 at Carlisle as a Colour-Sergeant. Living at St. Helens, Cumberland after his discharge George worked at Sergeant Instructor of Volunteers at the St. Helen's Drill Hall for 'L' Company, 3rd (Volunteer) Battalion, Border Regiment. Re-enlisting on 28 September 1914 with the Border Regiment as a Colour-Sergeant, George saw home service with 8th Battalion and was promoted Quartermaster-Sergeant on 6 October 1914. He was discharged on 15 October 1915; sold together with copied service records, photographs of St. Helen's Drill Hall and copied census data.
