Bernard Hastings Coveney was born at Brighton on 10 December 1894. Attesting on 21 September with the 1st (Home Counties) Brigade, Royal Field Artillery (Territorial Force) as a Gunner he saw home service for much of the war. Promoted Bombardier on 26 May 1916 Coveney was posted to Mesopotamia on 4 October 1917. Promoted Corporal while there on 1 October 1918 he was stationed in India after the war with his records including a reference to a rejected application for the India General Service Medal 1908-35 with an Afghanistan 1919 clasp. Coveney was finally demobilised on 17 December 1919 and died in 1893; sold together with M.I.C., Birth, Marriage and death registries entries and service records.
