Pair: Private J. R. Baron, East Lancashire Regiment, a victim of Shell Shock in September 1918

British War and Victory Medals (28463 Pte. J. R. Baron. E. Lanc. R.), nearly extremely fine (2)

John Richard Barron attested with the East Lancashire Regiment on 11 December 1915 and mobilised the next day. Posted to the 3rd Battalion he entered the war in France on 23 December 1916. Soon after Barron fell ill and was invalided back to Britain with 31 Field Ambulance being taken to Hospital in Paisley. Returning to his Battalion on 28 June 1917 he transferred to the Labour Corps on 17 September 1917, seeing service with 148 Labour Company. Discharged on 16 September 1918 Barron was diagnosed with Shell Shock.
