George Adkins served with the 2nd Battalion, Leicestershire Regiment in France from 4 October 1915. By War's end, he had added a 'mention' for services in Palestine (London Gazette 5 June 1919, refers) to go with his French Medal and the Silver War Badge he was issued on account of wounds upon his discharge in November 1919.
