1884 (1 Feb.) envelope from Invercargill to Hobart, Australia to the prominent collector Basset Hull, the envelope is franked with 1d. purple and green (2) perhaps because the right-hand stamp shows variety stop after 'stamp', an important cover, possibly the earliest philatelic cover from New Zealand.
