Great Britain: Appledore Gas Company Limited, a series of 3 different certificates each for 1 share of £5, #283, 187[5], printed by Waterlow & Sons, #425, 187[5], printed by J. Bishop and #745, 18[89], no printer's imprint. Appledore is a village about 6 miles from Barnstaple in Devon. The gas industry was nationalised by the Labour Government in 1949 when over 1000 private and municipal gas companies were acquired and placed into regional gas boards. All EF but the seal slightly split on the last (3).
