Great Britain: Smokeless Powder Company Limited, £1 ordinary shares, 18[89], #612, scrollwork at left, black, printed by Waterlow & Sons. Formed in 1887 and took a lease over 126 acres in Hertfordshire, renamed Barwick, which then became a factory hamlet. The company produced gunpowder for ammunition and blasting and supplied some of the best gun and ammunition manufacturers. The company was re-registered in 1894 - see next lot. VF.
