Great Britain: National Explosives Company Limited, a series of 3 different certificates for £1 ordinary shares, different printings, 189[9]#1211, 1[901], #2152 and 19[02], #2558, black with green underprint. The company was established at Hayle in Cornwall to produce explosives such as Dynamite, Cordite, Nitro-Glycerine and Gelignite, mainy for use in the mines but expanded to produce for the armed forces especially during WWI. Production ceased in 1919 but the 300 acre site was still used for storage until the 1960's. VF, scarce (3).
