1881 (3 May) envelope to Genoa from a Spanish ship at Falmouth, bears 1880-81 ½d. and 1d. with pair of 1880-84 4d. brown plate 17 tied by Falmouth squared circle datestamps, crossed with blue crayon and with number "17" in blue crayon and "1336" in black ink; bears a fine strike of the Falmouth thin crown/"registered"
applied in black; the arrival c.d.s. (6.5). Slightly reduced at right. Very late use of the London crowned registered handstamp

The registration rate was reduced to 2d. on 1st January 1878. This pays triple 2½d. postage plus 2d. registration for a total of 9½d. This letter was sent out of Falmouth and did not transit through London
