1842 (May) neat wrapper to the Eastern Bank, Dundee bearing a superb strike of the "Registered/edinburgh" in red and a clear "1/2" rate mark in red ink, the reverse with boxed Dundee arrival datestamp (19.5) (small fragment missing where the wax seal has been removed). Exceptionally fresh, a clean and desirable early Scottish registered cover. This registration mark is first recorded as being used in 1842
