1953 (3 Aug.) envelope addressed to a Nepali trader in Lhasa via the Nepal consulate in Gyantse and "Via India" bearing U.S. 6c. franking tied by Yardville New Jersey machine cancellation and bearing, on the reverse, a light strike of Indian P.O. Gyantse (3.10) c.d.s. The address side with 2/3 tr. indigo applied in Lhasa and cancelled philatelically with type T42a postmark; some typical light soiling. An interesting cover which took 63 days in transit, some three weeks longer than normal due to the disturbances in Tibet at the time following the Chinese Occupation. Photo
