The Chinese Post in Northern Szechwan
Maochow: 1910 (13 Sept.) large official envelope registered to the Viceroy of Szechwan bearing C.I.P. 1c. (2), 2c. and 5c. (3) tied by Maochow, Szechwan Chinese c.d.s. with a very fine strike of the boxed registered handstamp, there is a good strike of Kwanhsien Sze English/Chinese c.d.s. (19.9) with the English name in upper and loer case letters and a light strike og Chengtu arrival c.d.s. (19.9). The cover bears three large red seals. Folded for display, otherwise in very good condition.

Maochow is now part of the Ngawa Tibetan Prefecture. The Viceroy of Szechwan instigated political reforms in Eastern Tibet, he was killed in the 1911 Republican Revolution


茂州: 1910年9月13日寄四川總督大型掛號官封, 貼蟠龍壹分两枚, 二分一枚及五分三枚, 銷四川茂州日戳. 封上有清晰的框型掛號戳, 及9月19日灌縣雙語日戳, 及9月19日成都到達戳. 封上印有三枚紅色大型公章. 雖有摺, 但整體品相中上.
