1911 (22 June) large stampless red band envelope double registered to T. Piry, Postmaster General, Peking, marked "On Postal Service" and "Via Shanghai". The Chinese address side marked with superb strikes of Yatung type C3 c.d.s., boxed Yatung registered handstamp and large "AR" in double-circle (CR1) and three indistinct circular handstamp, one being Peking arrival; the English address side bearing the registration label "yatung - tibet/via siliguri", a fine strike of Shanghai B.P.O. registered oval (12.8) and Peking arrival (19.8), there are also the remains of a label, traces of green ink suggest this was for express. There is some creasing and wrinkling.

A remarkable cover which is thought to be the only Chinese-style on postal service cover recorded. Photo

Apparently the earliest recorded dates of use of the two Yatung registered handstamps
