1933 (5 Apr.) envelope to Charles Hawes in Karachi bearing India K.G.V 2a.6p. tied by a good strike of the special circular Purnea datestamp in bluish black; fine. With a card from the Editor of the Cinderella Philatelist commemorating the first flight over Everest by the Marquess of Clydesdale. Photo

There is some confusion in the literature, Waterfall notes that twenty five covers were carried on the first flight but, in the excitement of their success, this was forgotten (possibly left on the plane which went out on the 4th and did not return until the 5th) and postmarked on the 5th. Although there were subsequent flights, it is also possible that both planes carried mail, one lot being forgotten for two days, this does seem plausible as other accounts indicate that 60 covers were carried on the first flight
