Volunteer Force Long Service Medal (India & the Colonies), E.VII.R. (Lce. Corpl. F. Long. Bangalore Rifle Voltrs.), engraved naming, good very fine

Frederick Henry Bance Long was born on 4 July 1862, son of William Long, Assistant Adjutant General's Department and was baptised at Vepery, Madras. Joining the Bangalore Rifle Volunteers in 1883, he was married in June 1887 and was a chemist by trade. Manager of Riggs & Co. Chemists in 1895, he was awarded his Medal on 29 August 1903 (Gazette of India Notice No. 902, refers). He died on 3 April 1925 and is buried at All Saint's Oossor (now Hosur) Cemetery; sold with copied research.
